Beyond Memorial | Sacred Sites Exhibit

Display of audiovisual experience of sites related to Beyond Memorial projects. Display of several sites including Brownsville youth activation tour, Chrystie St., Burial Ground, and original Beyond Memorial in Bushwick. Using imagery, resident voices, and light from these specific sites, I incorporated these elements to bring these sites to the gallery space for visitors to experience. I also used rituals from the tour for visitors to recreate the activity in the space as it relates to the video. Each light color is created from colored film grafted on each window, producing a dynamic and natural light that fades, shades, and illuminates the space as time passes through the day.
